And I am so furious today
The sun is stinging my eyes
The clouds have stolen my tears
My heart now ...
Expand
And I am so furious today
The sun is stinging my eyes
The clouds have stolen my tears
My heart now lies in tiny shreds, distorted
Beyond recognition, by a lifetime of lies
And I am ridiculously depressed
But then again, that’s just to kill some time
That is lying heavy on my addled mind
I can’t remember when it happened last
I don’t recall when I was last fine
And I listlessly watch the world go by
In miserable shades of lifeless greys
Like oft repeated scenes in monochrome
And if there’s really nothing new ahead
I’d rather relive a few forgotten yesterdays
When Mommy spun tales each night
Of angels and demons, of hate and love,
And I would lie awake at times
In morbid fascination and silent curiosity
Counting the few million stars above
I have been waiting ever since
For angels to deliver me from hate’s reign
And then I will try to patch together
All the missing pieces of my heart
And I just may become human again

Dear Elegance,
Blessings... Your narrator can become human again. What do you think she needs to do?
Love,
Harry
P.S. If you wish to answer me in a note, that would be fine

Hail Pandit Raja Ramachandra :) ;)
Thank you for philosophically analysing my philosophical ramblings on Elegance' poem :)
Ha ha...you are funny!! :) :)
You are analysing my poetry and comments way more than necessary....Don't read too much between the lines...its just comments and poetry and that's that!!
Neither is my left/right brain or heart in any kind of quandry or confusion...so no thank you to those hints :)
But thanks for the comment anyway!!

Blizzy, (Elega, pl permit me to intervene here : ))
Now that you are turning a bit philosophical, let me answer yr query regarding heart : )) Most people mistake the term 'heart' in philosophy, to the physical heart! As you said the physical heart has no feelings - its only job is to keep ticking! The philosophical heart is actually your right brain - that part of the brain which triggers your instincts and intuition. Most of the time the left brain ignores the cries of the right brain, because we have been trained to think logically.
When a person starts trusting his intuitions, he may fail initially. But, things work out well after a few failures. Success breeds success........... Well, I hope I've given enough hints Blizzy......... rest is for yr 'heart' to find out : ))......... cheers.......... Raja.

Hey Elegance,
Ouch! That was kind of sad....
why does the poor heart get blamed for everything...Its only job is to tick away to keep a body alive or so I think....
Isn't it all about the mind...the elusive mind that has a gazillion things going through it and breaks away to smithereens due to information overload!!! :) :)
Then again what is lies?? There is probably the 'truth" and the 'lies" then a whole shade of grey in between...that has no definition....
Just getting warmed up into a philosophical rambling here :) :)

Excellent poem. While reading , a chubby lil girl sitting with her face in her hands came to my mind.

Hi Anneshwa,
That phase of non-humanness lasted only for as long as the depression
I am glad these verses came as an offshoot of what was otherwise a horrible phase ..
Love,
